Today we will be covering Speaking in
Speaking in other , is a spiritual
exercise whereby a believer, who is
baptised in the holy ghost, speaks in a
different language entirely. As a result of
communicating with God.
Most believers who have already been
baptized in the Holy Spirit. and have
begun to speak in tongues, still do not
understand what they have received from
God. The concepts are diverse, but the
vast majority do not see a purpose, in the
continued use of the supernatural
language of prayer of the Holy Spirit.
If those who speak in tongues no longer
see a clear reason for this, what to expect
from those who do not yet speak?
But when the Church begins to see the
sublime purpose, of this gift from God,
there will be a greater desire for the
manifestation of speaking in tongues.
It is time to understand that through the
use of tongues we can enrich our spiritual
life, building ourselves up. There are
blessings and advantages to be enjoyed in
using this practice. And I know that the
apostle Paul did not think differently, as
he went so far as to declare:
Apostle Paul’s view on
Speaking in tongues
“I give thanks to my God, who speaks
in tongues more than all of you.” (1
If there was no benefit in tongues, would
Paul thank God for that?
Do you still think he would use them so
much, as he emphasizes in saying that he
did it more than all the Corinthians?
And look, the currants did speak in
There was an intense use in this church,
which even turned into abuse, which was
one of the reasons that the apostle wrote
to correct them.
Note that he did not say that he spoke in
languages more than they did in the
sense of diversity, but the emphasis was
on the value of the practice, which clearly
points to the amount of time he invested
in this activity.
And why thank God for spending so much
time speaking in tongues? It is implied
that Paul had discovered “a gold mine” , a
source of power and edification! As he
“He who speaks in tongues builds
himself up…” (1Co. 14.4.)
Speaking in tongues is an edifying tool. To
build is to build, to grow, to raise
something. From the spiritual point of
view edification means growth;
It talks about building something more on
the foundation of faith in Jesus. Speaking
in tongues gradually adds to us everything
we need to walk in God.
THE WORK OF THE HOLY
SPIRIT in speaking in
Whenever we are speaking in tongues it
must be made clear that there is “a
society” in this manifestation. The Holy
Spirit does not speak in tongues, we do
it; but on the other hand, we are not
talking about ourselves, only what the
Spirit of the Lord inspires us to say. If one
part of this society is missing, there will
be no demonstration.
Divorce Rate/Marriage Failure
Therefore, starting from this principle, let
us bear in mind the moment when this
manifestation begins in our lives: when
we receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
It is precisely at this moment, when we
are filled with the Spirit and find
ourselves totally surrendered to him,
under his fullness, that we begin to speak
But why, when we are filled with the
Spirit, do we speak in a different
language? What is the value of this
event? What is the dimension of the
building that takes place within us?
Speaking in tongues is part of God’s
purpose for our lives. It is the tool that
the Holy Spirit uses to work in each of us
Speaking in other tongues will produce in
our lives the totality of the Holy Spirit’s
ministry. And demons are always
confused when we speak in other
The supernatural language of prayer is a
tool of the Spirit of God to carry out his
work in us. And there is a special reason
why the Holy Spirit touches our speech
right from the moment it comes upon us.
Speech is a strategic point, and Espírito
Santo does not exactly touch this area in
vain. Tiago spoke about the power of
“For we all stumble on many things. If
one does not stumble in word, he is a
perfect man, and capable of
restraining his who
le body as well.
Now, if we put bridles in the horses’
mouths, so that they obey us, then we
manage to direct their whole body. See
also the ships that, although so large
and carried by impetuous winds, with
a small rudder turn to wherever the
helmsman’s impulse wants.
So the language is also a small
member, and it boasts great things. See
how great a forest a little fire
kindles. The tongue is also a fire; yes,
the tongue, like a world of iniquity,
placed between our members,
contaminates the whole body, and
ignites the course of nature, being in
turn ignited by hell. For all kinds of
beasts and birds, reptiles and sea
animals alike are tamed, and have
been tamed by mankind;
but the tongue, no man can tame it. It
is an unstoppable evil; it is full of
deadly venom ”. (James 3.2-8)
Nowadays science has discovered what
the Holy Spirit had already revealed to its
people two millennia ago: that the
nervous system of speech influences the
But in addition to natural influence, the
Bible is showing that speech also has a
spiritual influence; showing that whoever
will be in control will always be God or
What is the cause of the Holy Spirit
precisely controlling this very strategic
area of our life when filling us with its
power? It is because through speech he
will be able to expand his domain in us,
and work more effectively in the
execution of his ministry.
How to be a blesses man
The Holy Spirit works in
He has done this since the Old Testament
(Gen. 6.3). He convinces the world of sin,
justice and judgment (John 16: 8).
The Holy Spirit is working at this very
moment, in the four corners of the earth,
even in those who do not yet know
God. However, he DOES NOT LIVE
WITHIN these people, and they do not
even know him, as the blessed Master
“And I will pray to the Father, and he
will give you another helper, that he
may be with you forever, namely, the
Spirit of truth, which the world cannot
receive; because you don’t see it or
but you know him, because he lives
with you, and he will be in you
”. (John 14: 16-17)
Hallelujah! We know him and he lives in
us. Therefore, their action in our lives is
much more profound than in those who
are not yet Christians.
Do you imagine how much he will not act
He came to live in us to fulfill his part in
the divine purpose. When Paul writes to
Timothy, he speaks of the good deposit in
us (2 Tim. 1:14); that is, there is an
investment from God in our lives! God’s
purpose in sending the Holy Spirit to
dwell in us was for him to produce
something in our lives.
And know, for sure, that the Holy Spirit
does not want to remain
inactive. Dwelling in you is part of his
job, and as you surrender, his actions
become more and more intense.
The Spirit of God is in you to do his part
in God’s eternal purpose; he came to
complete the work of redemption, as this
is his part in the action of the Trinity.
THE ROLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN
Repentance begins in man by divine
action. We know this because Paul told
the Romans that it is God’s goodness that
leads us to repentance (Rom. 2.4). And
who is behind this? It is the Holy
Spirit; Jesus said:
“When he comes, he will convict the
world of sin, righteousness, and
judgment.” (Jo 16.8.)
After repentance, when man exercises
faith in Jesus and the work of the cross, it
is the Holy Spirit who makes this a reality
That is why it is said that when born
again, man is born of the Spirit (John
3.6). And in the letter to Titus we read
about washing the regeneration of the
Holy Spirit (Tt 3.5), which again points to
the Spirit’s action in the application of
redemption in man.
But this is only the beginning.
The compassionate care of our
The kingdom of God has three basic
stages that man must go through: door,
path and target.
The door is the entrance through Jesus
The aim is to reach the stature of the
perfect man and heavenly glory. And
between the door and the target, what
remains is the path.
The Holy Spirit not only makes us pass
through the door, but he is the o
takes us to the target, and for this he uses
The path is the period when we will
experience God’s treatment of us in the
Christian life; it is the means by which
one goes to the target.
And all of this is the responsibility of the
Holy Spirit; it is he who transforms us
from glory to glory in the image of the
Lord (2 Cor. 3:18), produces his fruit in us
(Gal 5: 22-23), and leads us to walk and
live in him (Gal 5: 25).
The New Covenant is called by Paul the
MINISTRY OF THE SPIRIT (2 Cor 3.8),
showing us his role in producing the
work of God in us.
Holy Spirit came to complete the work of
redemption; that’s why it is in us. And he
brought with him a language of prayer,
which is speaking in tongues so that
through this language he can influence
us, since our language is such a strategic
means for this; for as James said:
If a man’s tongue is controlled, with it the
whole person’s being will also be
It is necessary to emphasize that this
touch on the tongue is not “magical” , we
need to subject it to each new day. It is
not just speaking in tongues occasionally,
or on the day of the baptism in the Spirit,
but daily, constantly and perseveringly.
But the divine benefit of this language is
far from just this, since it is not just that
the language is under control, but WHAT
it speaks when it is under the control of
the Holy Spirit. It is necessary to clarify
that in addition to the strategic touch
precisely in our speech,
The Spirit leads us to speak in a
supernatural language; and it is WHAT
WE TALK supernaturally that produces
In addition to submitting to the Spirit of
the Lord, entering your domains through
the daily practice of prayer in spirit, you
will also experience:
1. Knowledge by revelation.
2. The building of faith.
3. Victory over the flesh.
4. Fulfilling God’s will.
5. Spiritual sensitivity.
6. Perfect praise.
Let us then proceed to analyze each of
these wonderful benefits that God has
offered us …In speaking in tongues.
